The Voice results: Did #VoiceSave protect Stephanie Rice, Mark Isaiah?

#VoiceSave protect

Tuesday night’s The Voice results show provided the second elimination of the season, and with that, the second #VoiceSave.

Who was in danger? Let’s say that in starting things off tonight (see our prediction piece over here), we were pretty nervous about Mark Isaiah and Vanessa Ferguson … and with good reason given that they were both near the bottom of the iTunes sales chart. Yet, at the same time there was enough parity between some of the various artists on iTunes that we actually weren’t all that confident about any one person sticking around in the competition other than Chris Blue, Brennley Brown, Lauren Duski, and Hunter Plake. These four are the “Big Four” in our mind, otherwise known as the likely people to be there for the finale.

Of course, there will be spoilers ahead through the rest of the article. Refresh often for updates.

Early results – Lauren Duski and Jesse Larson were the first two artists declared safe, which wasn’t a shock based on what we saw on the show last night. Chris Blue was the next artist declared safe after that. Then, you had Brennley Brown. Three of them are in the group we already mentioned.

The first person we were somewhat worried about who was declared safe was Aliyah Moulden. Lilli Passero followed that up with a ticket into the next round.

#VoiceSave – When the dust settled, this is where things got somewhat shocking. Stephanie Rice and Mark Isaiah were up for the Save. While we love Mark’s song choice of “7 Years,” we did still think that Stephanie was probably going to win this. Then again, Mark’s already survived one of these before, and that is something you have to give him a little bit of credit for.

The result – Mark advances again! We’re starting to think that he could be one of these acts this season who somehow finds a way to be safe time and time again despite going up against the wall. he’s developed a good social audience; if nothing else, this helps him in the long run.
