NCIS season 14 episode 23 spoilers: Is McGee / Delilah wedding here?
What we would presume about this episode going into it is that it will be somewhat similar to the Scorpion wedding episode with Happy and Toby earlier this week, where it appeared at first that every thing was going to hell in a handbasket before the characters figured it out and everyone was happy (and the two were hitched) before the cliffhanger arrived.
Per the synopsis below, there is going to be a significant source of stress leading up to the big ceremony; as if that was not bad enough, there is also another murder case that the team is going to have to take on, one the requires many of the characters to be forced to travel out to sea in order to examine the case of a young Petty Officer.
NCIS season 14 episode 23 synopsis – “The stress of McGee and Delilah’s (Margo Harshman) imminent wedding takes its toll, as Delilah is rushed to the hospital. Also, the NCIS team travels out to sea after a young and healthy Petty Officer aboard a Navy destroyer dies in his sleep.”
As for whether or not this episode carries into the finale two weeks from tonight, there is no precise word on that. The only thing that we can offer up in terms of advice is that you will have an opportunity to see Gibbs make a critical decision that could have far-reaching consequences. It makes some sense to have the penultimate episode of the season be about one of the series’ most longstanding characters, that way the finale can be more about the flagship star in Mark Harmon. We do wonder if the show’s going to give Pauley Perrette’s Abby this sort of fantastic screen time near the end of a season again, but that is probably a different question for a different day.
