Arrow season 5 episode 20 sneak peek: Felicity’s new hurdle
What we didn’t quite put together until now is how Felicity Smoak could end up back in a wheelchair, mostly because we didn’t put two and two together. In trapping Felicity and Oliver down in the bunker, Adrian Chase shut down everything electronic, and that includes the device implanted in Felicity that helps her to walk. She finds herself now back in a wheelchair, and that is one of many struggles that she is going to face in an effort to get back on the outside.
Does she have Oliver there with her to help? Sure, but that doesn’t override the fact that he isn’t going to be much help getting out of there without a solution. These two are going to be left to their own devices to both brainstorm and ponder over the state of their relationship. Meanwhile, they are also going to be in a position where they are reliant on Curtis, Rene, and others on the outside to realize that something is amiss and find a way to get them free. Even when they are out, they still have to find Adrian and hope to defeat him, and that’s not going to be easy over the final episodes. One of his next moves (remember, he’s always TEN STEPS AHEAD) is that many of his old cases as District Attorney will be thrown out because of his own lack of ethics, which means that many criminals from this season so far are going to be back out on the streets. This could be why Cody Rhodes is going to be back at some point before the end of the season.
