American Gods episode 2 spoilers: What’s next for Ricky Whittle, cast
To think, we’re not even at the beginning of the show reaching another level just yet. This is something more reserved for the remaining episodes of the season. This includes next week’s “The Secret of Spoon,” which is going to send Shadow more on the path that he started tonight with Mr. Wednesday. He will understand more of his role and the full extent of what his journey is going to be in the wake of his grief and his sorrow.
American Gods episode 2 synopsis – “As Mr. Wednesday begins recruitment for the coming battle, Shadow Moon travels with him to Chicago, and agrees to a very high stakes game of checkers with the old Slavic god, Czernobog.”
The great thing about what we got tonight on Starz is that it allowed us to get a sense of the foundation of the show, and precisely what the remainder of the season is going to be like. If you loved the premiere, odds are that you’ll love the rest of the season.
We’ve said this before in other articles, but our perspective on the series is one of an outsider, trying to understand the layers of Shadow and this world intentionally without knowledge of the books. With that, our connections to themes and specific references may be different than most. As of right now, what we see the show as is a journey about a guy trying to get his power back, and either dealing with extraordinary circumstances or suffering a sort of terrible psychotic break from the world.
