Nikki Bella of Total Divas turned down Dancing with the Stars gig

While we know who ended up on Dancing with the Stars this season, we’ve apparently now learned that Nikki Bella was once on the radar. The WWE wrestler and Total Divas star was understandably a good get for the show — they do love to cast reality stars, and they’ve also cast wrestlers over the years, as well. Stacy Keibler was one of the most-notable participants from the earlier seasons of the show; why not try to find a way to repeat that?

In the end, though, Nikki decided that this was not the venue in which she wanted to appear … at least for the time being. During Wednesday night’s new episode of Total Divas, we saw Nikki say to her agent that she was going to “pass” on the chance to be on the show. Why? In her words, she wants her “comeback to be in that ring and nowhere else.”

In the end, we do get this given that this is the career that she’s known for to go along with the show, and that specific career is one of the reasons why Total Divas exists and is successful in the first place.

In the end, we do figure that there could be opportunities for Nikki to appear on Dancing with the Stars over the course of the future, given that if the producers want her now, there is a good chance that they will want her down the road. Wrestling hasn’t been featured on the show in a little while, and she is one of the more high-profile wrestlers out there at the moment. Plus, we do think that there is a good crossover between dancing and pro wrestling given that both require athleticism and an understanding of choreography and performing in front of a live audience.

If Bella isn’t on the show moving forward, there are certainly plenty of other wrestlers that we’ve love to see both past and present. We’ll see what happens this fall when season 25 inevitably comes on the air. We’re just assuming that this is what ABC is going to decide to do based on everything that’s happened to date.
