The Voice results: Mark Isaiah, Lilli Passero, Troy Ramey face elimination
At the top of the list, though, seems to be Mark Isaiah more so than anyone else. His performance from last night didn’t really register at all on the upper echelon of the iTunes sales chart, which clearly suggests that he’s in a very dangerous spot entering the show tonight. Meanwhile, we’re worried about Lilli Passero, as well, given that she was outside of the top 100. Troy Ramey made it into that threshold with his “Free Fallin” cover, but we wouldn’t say that it was strong enough to inspire a whole lot of confidence in his own future on the show, either.
Are these results a guarantee that any of the three will be going home tonight? Not in the slightest. As we explained recently in breaking down some of the more successful performances last night in terms of sales, one of the big things that you do have to remember here is that these results are not necessarily a true barometer in terms of who stays and who goes … especially pretty early on during the season. At this point, we tend to think that they are more indicators of how well someone could do in the long-term of the season. For example, if you have low iTunes sales, maybe you can recover from that for a week or two; however, you’re probably going to have a hard time pulling out a win at the end of the day. There are some major challenges that you are probably going to be facing, and that is just something that you have to prepare yourself about.
One other bit of silver lining for all of these hopefuls is the simple fact that they can all still fight for the save still. There is no guarantee that any of them will be going home, and they can do whatever they need to in order to save themselves. In the end, we’ll see what comes about tonight…
