Home Fires season 2 episode 5 spoilers (PBS): Last before series finale

It may be sad, but it’s true — Home Fires season 2 episode 5 is the penultimate episode of the television series. It’s airing next week! As you would imagine, this is going to be a pretty emotional hour of television, and that is in two parts. Some of it will likely be related to what’s coming in the story, and then there is that other part that is just at this point trying to anticipate the fact that this great show is coming to an end. (The story is existing in other forms, but we’ll talk about that after the finale.)

For now, let’s offer up a couple of different details regarding just what is coming up next week.

Home Fires season 2 episode 5 synopsis – “Steph risks losing the farm. Sarah finds herself in a dangerous situation, while Teresa has a big decision to make. Alison discovers the real reason behind the parachute accidents – but can she warn Frances before it’s too late?”

Without giving away too much, we can add here that for Teresa, she’s going to find herself torn between two different sides and facing one of the more emotional choices that she’s had to make in her entire life. Meanwhile, Frances is going to have to come to terms more with the past in order to move forward — in theory, you would hope that this would be easy, but time moves differently for different people and there are also these big emotional wounds that need to be taken on, as well.

As for your weekly update with Pat and Bob, let’s just say that more is coming, and there is a reason to be afraid for poor Pat. She’s one of our favorite characters, but she unfortunately is also one of the most unlucky in terms of some of the things that she goes through. Odds are, you will only want to root for her even further by the time you make it to the other side of this.
