Elementary season 5 episode 21 spoilers: A powerful Detective Bell story

Elementary season 5 episode 21

Following tonight’s installment, Elementary season 5 episode 21 is going to continue to tell a story about Detective Bell and Chantal. However, this one is going to be even more painful and gut-wrenching than any that was broached tonight. Holmes and Watson have to figure out the right way to solve a murder that Bell is so close to, and in the process see how he is going to be able to handle that situation of being a Detective with multiple motives for getting justice.

Based on some of the information that we have below, it also appears as though Holmes will be uncovering a little bit about Bell and his own history, as well.

Elementary season 5 episode 21 synopsis – “When Detective Bell’s girlfriend, Chantal (Chasten Harmon), is assaulted and her ex-husband is killed soon after, in what Holmes and Watson discover is a staged suicide, they search for one suspect behind the linked crimes. Also, as Bell fights the urge to seek his own brand of justice for Chantal, Sherlock makes a heartbreaking realization about the detective’s past.”

From a television and an entertainment standpoint, this all sounds pretty fantastic. When it comes to the characters themselves, this is going to be difficult. For Jon Michael Hill, however, he’s probably relishing the chance to take on this sort of meaty material. Because of the structure of the show and the primary focus on Sherlock / Joan, there aren’t these sort of possibilities often to take a deep dive into his own history and some of what impacts him. This is a great chance to do that before we get to the end of the season and tackle some more powerful Sherlock / Joan stuff once more.
