Once Upon a Time season 6 episode 18 spoilers: All things Zelena

Once Upon a Time season 6 episode 18 is entitled “When Bluebirds Fly,” and the more that you find out about it, the more and more clear it becomes that this could be a Zelena story for the ages. After all, over the course of this we should learn more about where she stands in terms of her relationships with some other characters, and also how far she is willing to go in order to defeat the Black Fairy.

Not only will you be getting a chance to see a big Zelena story in the present, but the synopsis below also makes it clear that there will be more of her in the past:

“In flashbacks, Zelena befriends a young woodcutter who has been cursed and turns to her for help finding a new heart. Zelena is forced to choose between keeping her powers and her friendship with him. Meanwhile, in Storybrooke, Zelena decides to take on the Black Fairy and put a stop to her, once and for all, against Regina’s wishes, and the Charmings disagree over Emma and Hook’s wedding plans.”

Here’s the thing that we’re somewhat worried about: Whether or not Zelena makes it to the end of the season in one piece. If she goes rogue on the rest of the characters and decides to take on many of the main characters herself, we know that this is a dangerous proposition. If there is one reason to remain hopeful at the moment, it is the fact that Rebecca Mader seems to be on tap to be appearing during the upcoming musical episode. Ultimately, regardless of what happens the thing that we can probably all celebrate is that this episode is probably going to be a tremendous showcase for Mader, so we’ll ultimately see what happens from there.
