24: Legacy finale ratings: Did they boost season 2 renewal hopes?
Let’s start with the good news, mostly because we don’t feel like being overtly negative — the 24: Legacy finale ratings were not a drop-off from what they were the week before. The show drew in total a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic, and with 3.33 million viewers watching, this actually was a small increase versus the week before. With DVR ratings and streams factored in, this number is sure to improve. The problem here is that out of this DVR data, there may only be so much that matters when it comes to advertiser support. If you want to monetize TV, you gotta watch the ads! We really cannot stress that enough.
Now, the bad news is that this is the finale, and as a result of that, you want to see the ratings moving in the opposite direction. With the story winding down, the biggest thing you can really hope for is a bump that suggests that viewers are engaged enough in the story that they cannot afford to have it be spoiled for them. Unfortunately, there is nothing about these ratings that indicate that this is the case.
As we’ve stated before, Fox will likely make its decision over the course of the next month. For now, we’re not entirely optimistic given that there are many other series that have drawn stronger ratings as of late. With that being said, though, we don’t know how Gotham and Lucifer are going to fare after they were shelved for so long this year. It’s feasible that after the hiatus, they come back and don’t perform any better. Gotham still has not been renewed for another season yet, so this is something that you do have to consider in some form.
For the time being though, let’s keep things simple. Do you want to see 24: Legacy renewed for an additional season? Be sure to share in the finale below!

No, I absolutely do not wish to see 24:Legacy if that show is to compete with Gotham for the same timeslot. Gotham is by far the stronger and more interesting show. The way Fox handled the scheduling this year is disgraceful.
