The Blacklist season 4 spoilers: Could Howard Hargrave be included?
So while executive producer Jon Bokenkamp did not necessarily confirm to Entertainment Weekly that we would be seeing Terry O’Quinn on The Blacklist proper moving forward, it definitely is something that the show could end up exploring in the future:
“Tom just discovered his father has used him by preying upon the big questions and emotional baggage he’s been struggling with for over 20 years … I can’t imagine how we could ignore that going forward in the life of this character. This new revelation definitely feeds into the insecurities and trust issues that have shaped Tom since childhood.”
We’d be surprised if Howard, or even Tom, appears that much more in The Blacklist season 4 just because there are only so many hours in the day. Ryan Eggold couldn’t be in too many places at the same time, so we figure his appearances may just be limited to a couple of episodes at most. Maybe the show will surprise us, but we shall see since he had a pretty big part in the show before going off to the spin-off show.
We feel like the future of the Tom / Howard story is heavily dependent on whether or not Redemption returns. If it does, it’s certainly possible that it will remain over there. If it doesn’t return, maybe the producers find a small way to incorporate what happened in Redemption onto the main show without taking too much away from everything that is already happening with Reddington and Liz. As you are probably well aware at the moment, there is absolutely a lot that is going to be happening courtesy of Dembe’s supposed betrayal.
