Call the Midwife season 6 episode 2 reaction (PBS): Is Patsy leaving?
Now, let’s get back to the question that we first raised within the title of the article: Is Patsy leaving? Are we officially at the end of the road when it comes to Fennell on the series? It is fair to wonder the question, but the one thing we’d advise you to remember is that she’s still got a life in Poplar. Her friends are there, and the same goes for her job. This is without even mentioning her relationship with Delia, the woman she loves and the woman she’d do just about anything for.
In the end, we have to think that we will find a way to see Patsy come back on the show again at some point before we get to the end of the season. Even when this episode first aired in the UK, there were quotes out there saying you would see her again.
There are reasons for this particular story decision — Fennell in real life is a published author, and has quite a bit on her plate. She had an opportunity during the production of this season to go off and polish off some other things. Call the Midwife has a large cast, so there will be plenty of other characters to get some time in her stead in the near future.
Overall, we do hope you enjoyed Call the Midwife season 6 episode 2 very much, especially the emotional, heartwrenching storyline that threw Shelagh at the center of a complicated case. Even though she may be expecting a child, that did not slow down or stop her from getting involved. You can view our full review of this episode over at the link here.
