We’ve got the latest on the NCIS: Los Angeles season 8 episode 21 return date — unfortunately, it’s not for the coming week.
Instead, the next new episode for the series entitled “Battle Scars” is coming your way on Sunday, April 23, and if there is one little silver lining we can offer you, it’s that this is the final hiatus coming up for the season. Beyond that, we’ll start to get new episodes coming your way on a weekly basis until the finale … then, of course, it’s back until waiting until the fall. (Fingers crossed that NCIS: Los Angeles keeps the same timeslot — while there were some delays here and there, this timeslot did improve the ratings.)
As for what you are going to be seeing in this episode, the biggest thing we can say is that this is going to be a great episode for Hetty courtesy of some of her former colleagues turning up. It’s a chance to honor another generation, and get some new energy into the show as well.
NCIS: Los Angeles season 8 episode 21 synopsis – “After a highly decorated Navy Captain, Charles Langston (Carl Lumbly), kidnaps a Veterans Affairs administrator who has been siphoning funds, the NCIS team must work with Hetty’s former Vietnam War colleagues, now-retired Admiral AJ Chegwidden (John M. Jackson) and Admiral Sterling Bridges (James Remar) to solve the case.”
The one thing that does surprise us somewhat is that we’re getting this episode so soon to the end of the season, mostly because we were more likely to assume that this is the sort of case we’d get a little earlier on. AT this point, we do tend to see stories that build a little bit more directly to the finale — maybe that is actually the case here, but it is a little early to know for certain. Even if this episode doesn’t build anywhere else, there are still three more beyond it. We anticipate some sort of big finale, and potentially even a cliffhanger to season 9 depending on if the producers really want to torment us.
