Home Fires season 2 episode 3 spoilers (PBS): Is Pat – Marek secret out?

Given that this is a series of victories and setbacks, you can probably expect a little bit of both moving into Home Fires season 2 episode 3 next week on PBS.

First and foremost, you’re going to see Frances try to recover from some of the terrible news that she learned on this past episode regarding Peter and Helen. It’s one thing to learn about a devastating secret, and it’s another to have that happen when the person is not even there to explain themselves. Trying to handle that is going to be one of several different interesting storylines that you see unfold. (Warning: Spoilers ahead! Be warned if you haven’t watched tonight’s episode yet.)

Home Fires season 2 episode 3 synopsis – “As the Battle of Britain intensifies, Joyce gives Sarah some unwelcome advice. The stakes are raised for Pat when someone discovers her secret. Frances learns a difficult truth. Steph is increasingly concerned by Stan’s behavior on the farm. The Brindsleys receive some wonderful news.”

As you would imagine, the Pat – Bob – Marek story is going to be the one that causes the greatest amount of anxiety both for us and the majority of the other viewers out there, largely because Bob is the worst and he will probably continue to spend the majority of his time being a horrible person and causing his wife an inordinate amount of stress, not to mention further abuse. This could be an episode where Pat starts to fight back, which is the great news. That bad news is that she’s walking a tightrope, and has to be very careful about some of the people figuring out her secret. If the wrong person learns about her new relationship with Marek, they could run back and clue Bob in on what’s happening. She deserves happiness, but unfortunately, she’s in a position where this is not going to come altogether easy for her at all.

As for what is going for Sarah in the episode, let’s just say that there is an unlikely pairing that will make itself clear in this episode, and serve as a good subject of conversation for the remainder of this short season — and really the series as a whole, given that this is the final one.
