Talking Dead finale: start time; Norman Reedus, Jeffrey Dean Morgan to appear

Talking Dead finale

Ready for some news on tonight’s Talking Dead finale? Given that it’s the companion to The Walking Dead season 7 finale, you know it’ll be big and have some big names to go with it.

The first thing we feel obligated to tell you is the start time for tonight’s episode. The past two weeks, the Chris Hardwick-hosted aftershow started after Into the Badlands, and that is going to happen yet again here. Note, though, that because of The Walking Dead airing until 10:25 p.m. Eastern, you’re going to be waiting until around 11:25 to see the Talking Dead finale on the air. Our suggestion? Grab some caffeine, call in sick tomorrow, or set your DVR if you must. It’s going to be a late night, people, but oh so worth it when you hear who is going to be the guests.

Those of you who will be tuning into Talking Dead tonight, there’s going to be an appearance from Daryl Dixon himself in Norman Reedus. Meanwhile, Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be on hand to discuss all things Negan, and we’re going to also be getting executive producer Scott M. Gimple to discuss the story from a writing point of view.

Oh, and did we mention that there’s also a “mystery guest” booked for tonight? We know that Hardwick likes to stress that these aren’t always people whose characters die in the episode, but this is the finale. Odds are, it’s someone whose character dies tonight. There are certainly many people we’re worried about, whether it be Sasha, Rosita, Eugene, Dwight, or even Morgan or Ezekiel. Even if a character survives in the comics, it doesn’t mean that they will on the show. We’ll of course have some coverage on what happens one way or another later tonight when we post our full review for the Walking Dead season 7 finale.

We also assume that there will be some conversation tonight about The Walking Dead season 8, though it’ll be hard to share much in the way of footage since there really isn’t any unless production managed to bank some in secret at the end of filming this past season. Consider tonight a great way to celebrate the season, but then also to bemoan the fact that there isn’t any new episodes from now until October, most likely.

If you missed it…

Be sure to head over here, since that is where we speculate on when the Walking Dead season 8 premiere date could be.
