The Voice UK: Someone crashes stage during Jamie Miller result

Sir Tom Jones

Who was the season 6 winner for The Voice UK — Into the Ark, Jamie Miller, or Mo Adeniran?

The best thing about the show on Sunday night is that ITV decided not to make this into some sort of bloated two-hour spectacle stuffed full of garbage that nobody really needed. The show was relatively to-the-point, and that’s what’s what we appreciated. It was an hour long, and while there was some filler and some guest performances, nothing felt like it was altogether stuffed out compared to some two-hour finales we’ve seen over the years.

As we pointed out in our separate article over here about some of the finale performances, to us it felt as though Into the Ark was the act with the edge. They are the strongest duo in the history of the British version of the show; also, they’ll easily have the largest total fan following.

Well, this is where things get a little bit strange. Right when Jamie Miller was revealed to the third-place finisher, someone crashed the stage holding a piece of paper. We couldn’t make out precisely what said piece of paper said, but it was clearly an issue as security quickly rushed the person away and the show did its best to not even acknowledge what happened — which makes sense, given that they don’t want to give this person any sort of publicity as a result of some of their actions.

This wasn’t even the only issue that took place during the final, as Sir Tom Jones opted to at one point drop the f-bomb after Into the Ark made it through to the final part of the competition alongside Mo. Clearly, Sir Tom is happy … but that happy? You know that there’ll be complaints over it! Still, it’s Tom Jones, and he’s shown a certain capacity to do whatever he wants.

Initially, we planned on this being an article about declaring the winner for the season; instead, we’re going to be offering up something a little different over at this link with some of the big results of the evening. Let’s hope for an interesting conclusion.
