Pretty Little Liars season 7: On Spencer, Hanna and Caleb
Anyone who watches Pretty Little Liars is at this point probably well aware of the fact that this is one messy show when it comes to relationships. Take, for example, Hanna and Caleb. They were originally together for a significant stretch of time, but when we flashed forward to the future, they no longer were and the two were off in some other relationships. Specifically, Caleb ended up being with none other than Hanna’s longtime friend Spencer! That relationship proved to be rather interesting, but it ultimately did not last. Late in the first half of the final season, Hanna and Caleb seemingly got back together. There’s no guarantee that this lasts, but this is absolutely where they stand right now.
So how will Spencer feel about Hanna and Caleb presumably getting back together? This is a subject that creator Marlene King commented on in a new interview with HollywoodLife, one that makes it clear that if there are some tensions between the Liars coming up, one of them is probably not going to be something that has to do with this relationship:
“[Because] the show is about unconditional friendships, Spencer went to Hanna and asked for her permission to date Caleb and I think even though there’s some stress there she wants the best for them.”
One of the things that inevitably helps all of these characters, beyond of course them being friends and them wanting the best for each other in terms of their happiness, is the obvious fact that they have such bigger fish to fry out there. Specifically, you’ve still got A.D. floating around out there, and some of the other reports suggest that this villain is going to be making more and more personal threats in an effort to get more of what they ultimately want. This is dangerous, and something that Hanna and Caleb will have to deal with on such a level that it could put their relationship on the back burner. Or, who knows? Maybe this relationship strife does enough that it makes the two of them closer since they need someone to further confide in.
No matter what happens on the final stretch of Pretty Little Liars episodes, you’re going to get an opportunity to see fairly soon. New episodes are set to premiere in just a matter of weeks.
