Outlander season 3 notes: Ships, sets, and future appearances

Outlander season 3 notes:

We’ve got a few different things worthy of discussion in today’s Outlander season 3 notes, and let’s begin with the discussing of the latest photo courtesy of executive producer Matthew B. Roberts!

Earlier this week, we wrote about a gorgeous photo he posted of a ship in South Africa — presumably, the one that Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) will be taking on their voyage from Scotland to Jamaica on the show. Today, we’ve got another new photo via his Twitter that features the helm, where someone will be steering the two parties towards their future.

The shading of this image is rather nice, especially since the dark tones accent the rope rather nicely. It certainly feels authentic, and we can only imagine the feeling of being on this ship. It may not be fully real for the actors, but you will still get the sense of the close quarters and the heat bearing down on you.

Filming in the country will continue from now until June — hopefully, further images will be released along the way.

See the armory – Leanne Aguilera of Entertainment Tonight made an appearance on the set back when the show was filming in Scotland, and within this video, you can get a nice look behind the scenes of some of what goes into planning some of these scenes. It’s nice to get some sort of behind-the-scenes insight while we wait for the Droughtlander to be over … it’s still a long wait, after all. It seems like ET is posting some of its coverage sporadically throughout the hiatus, which is probably a good thing since it gives you something to look forward to here and there. That’s one of the tough things about this period, where there are no teasers or trailers out there from Starz just yet. With the show filming, the cast and crew is also a little bit quieter.

Sam Heughan appearance in France – If you are interested in seeing Sam in France later this year, it appears as though he will be appearing at The Land Con in October. It feels a little early to know further details than that, but this is something that we’ll certainly keep our eyes peeled on.

As always, we welcome your thoughts on this Outlander story in the comments! Meanwhile, you can head over to the link here in the event you want to read some of our other coverage. (Photo: Starz.)
