Game of Thrones season 7: James ‘Sit Down’ the backdrop for new promo
The new promo is set to this song, as it features three of the show’s main characters in Daenerys Targeryan (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) all preparing to approach their respective thrones before sitting down on them and surveying the room. There’s probably nothing in here in terms of actual footage, but that does not make this any less cool.
Speaking of cool, does anyone else notice Cersei’s breath at the end? Well, they make it so obvious that it’s pretty hard not to. This is yet another reminder that winter is no longer just coming on the show — it’s already here! The White Walkers are the specter behind everything as we move into the new season, and we foresee there being two different ways in which this story could go.
1. The separate kingdoms coming together in hopes of taking on the White Walkers via a united front — difficult as it may be, it may be the only way to ensure their survival.
2. A chorus of infighting before they take on the White Walkers, leaving them with one unified ruler. We can easily foresee Jon and Daenerys eventually working together with a common goal. As for Cersei, let’s just say that this doesn’t appear to be anywhere near as likely based on everything we’re seeing so far.
The new season of Game of Thrones will premiere on HBO come July 16. We’re going to go out on a limb here and say that the ratings are enormous … okay, we actually admit that this is not going out on a limb at all. With there only being seven episodes coming on the air this summer, this further offers an incentive for the series to be an event. We figure that there will be hordes of people watching live, especially given that it’s the summer and there isn’t too much competition out there.
