NCIS fans’ favorite character items? Ducky’s bow ties, Agent Gibbs’ coffee, Abby’s Caf-Pow
Would you recognize Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard without a bow tie? The medical examiner is played by the talented actor David McCallum. Ducky brings a bit of reflection to the show with his stories of yesteryear, talking to the dead on his table and his bow tie. In fact, fans might not even recognize the man who works in the basement unless he had his scrubs on OR one of this fashionable bow ties. Fans have come to expect the fashion and all it offers.
NCIS Character items are very unique
If Agent Gibbs wasn’t walking around the squad room without a cup of coffee, would you think something was off? Most fans of the show definitely would ask where his cup went. Known for his love of black coffee, the signature mark is only second to when he is taking down the bad guys and has a firearm in his hand. He gets the job done and he doesn’t care if everyone knows if a cup of java with caffeine helped him.
Another cup expected to be seen on the show is Abby’s Caf-Pow. Fans have come to learn this supersized drink is is a high energy-caffeine drink that NCIS Forensic Scientist Abby Sciuto loves to drink. The cups are always seen when she is working in her lab. The fans would be surprised to find out that Abby kicked the Caf-Pow habit. Or, didn’t see a cup of the delicious drink on a counter. Typically it’s Agent Gibbs who drops off the drink in an effort to help Abby save time while she is working hard in the lab.
Who owns that toothpick on NCIS? It might just look like a sliver of wood to some, but it’s more to a viewer of the popular CBS show. The toothpick is the signature piece for NCIS Director Leon Vance that he uses when he’s thinking. Played by Rocky Carroll, the actor is seen on camera with a toothpick during big decisions. He often contemplates strategies for his team with a toothpick. It’s a subtle item, but it’s a very useful reminder that Vance makes the final decision at NCIS.
The fans of NCIS have come to appreciate the different objects that relate to the characters. After all, it’s what makes the show so special!
