NCIS: New Orleans season 3 episode 19 review: Dr. Loretta Wade poisoned, Agent Pride challenges the Mayor

NCIS: New Orleans season 3 episode 18 review

On Tuesday night fans of NCIS: New Orleans were screaming in horror when Dr. Loretta Wade dropped to the floor. The beloved character on the popular CBS show was poisoned and she needed an antidote immediately. When she collapsed, after examining the other expired victims in her lab, the viewers knew it could have been her last case.

Agent Pride’s team wasn’t going to let her die. Not if they could help it. Catching a case at the local Navy base, the agents were called out to see if a service member jumped to his death from a building scaffolding as he was laying wires or if it was murder. What the team found out was extremely disturbing. A Navy team was targeted on base with several members becoming victims. Some were killed by poisoning, others in a car fire and a few remained in serious condition at the hospital, just like Dr. Wade clinging to life.

Unable to figure out what type of poison, the NCIS team focused on finding out if there was an antidote to counteract impending death. Not knowing the possible players, the agents systematically eliminated suspects in hopes to discover who the target was and if the killers were still on the loose.

Luckily the case caught a huge break and Agent Pride’s team figured out that the team working on the base wasn’t putting out just any wire next to those scaffolding. The unit was actually working on a secret communication program for the military. Those bad guys who poisoned the crew actually poisoned the crew in the compound by offering up a very well known New Orleans delicacy to eat. Tracking the international ring, the NCIS agents were able to corner a pair of frauds on base stealing the secrets. Unfortunately, those two evil do-gooders were killed, but their boss was still alive and well.

Capturing him was the missing link as the antidote was in his possession. Looking to face life in prison, the final moments of the show had the agents retrieving what would save Dr. Wade’s life. Meanwhile, the man who was just arrested was killed by a bullet, one that penetrated a thick, brick wall. Bewildered, this killing offered more questions than answers.

When will Agent Pride and the Mayor will face off?

The continuing standoff between Agent Pride and the Mayor heated up. The line in the sand is drawn in New Orleans. Unwilling to give up any details he has on the Mayor, it is Pride who challenges the Mayor to back down. The Mayor threatened to get Agent Pride’s team removed from New Orleans. And he just might try. Agent Pride has always stuck with his gut so he knows the Mayor might be hiding something. Is the Mayor connected to Garcia’s murder? Fans still aren’t sure, but Pride is bound to find out.

We enjoyed tonight’s episode of “NCIS: New Orleans.” While we might have to apologize to the neighbors for our screams of shock as we watched Dr. Wade fall to the floor, there is no doubt we pulled for her quick recovery. Thankfully it was Forensic Scientist Sebastian Lund who saved Dr. Wade and really made our night! Episode grade: A.
