Outlander season 3 photo: One of your best ship previews to date

We’ve got the latest Outlander season 3 photo within this article, and we have to say that this to date may be the best look at one of the ships that we’ve seen. (Who would’ve known that we’d spend so much time talking about ships without them being romantic pairings?)

The photo below, posted on the official show Twitter account, was initially taken by executive producer Matthew B. Roberts on South Africa. His account is definitely worth a follow if you haven’t seen it already — he’s one of those rare social-media talents these days who takes beautiful scenery and production photos. This is a fantastic look at a ship that could be carrying Jamie and Claire to Jamaica, where they will spend a certain percentage of season 3.

In case you haven’t heard (you most likely have if you’re a diehard fan), the show is taking advantage of some of the crew and resources that were left over in the country from when Black Sails filmed there for many years. Production of the final season wrapped up last year, and that series finale is airing Sunday. Sam Heughan personally sent the show a little bit of love on Twitter today while he’s working with some of the people who helped make that show such a success. Filming will be taking place there for him, Caitriona Balfe, and others potentially for more than two additional months. We project based on current reports that it will be done come early June, and the show will premiere in September.

Will we get some further official updates from Starz at some point between now and then? You have to expect so. They know that this Droughtlander is incredibly long, and they may choose to offer up a few morsels here and there in order to make things a little bit easier. Given that there is so much footage already in the can from the show’s time filming in Scotland, that would be a great starting-off point for a teaser, right?
