American Horror Story season 7: The tiniest of teases
The one thing that was said about American Horror Story season 7, meanwhile, is something that we find rather funny — the idea for the story came out of something as mundane as a tax-credit application. Per Entertainment Weekly, here is what executive producer Tim Minear had to say on the subject:
“At the beginning of every season, in order to secure the tax benefit, you have to give a synopsis of what you’re doing … That was not okay with Ryan, but we had to give them something, so we made up this completely batsh– thing for those two paragraphs and the funny thing is, we’re doing it this year.”
As for some of the other things that are known at the moment about season 7, it appears as though the show’s doing something political based on what fellow EP Ryan Murphy said recently during an interview on Watch What Happens Live! — though he confirmed after the fact that the show is not casting either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump in the story. We don’t think that he was necessarily joking, but politics could be used as a metaphor for the season rather than something necessarily literal. There are, in the end, a number of different things that you have to take into consideration.
For the time being, American Horror Story season 7 is going to be premiering on FX when we get around to the fall. Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson are for now the only confirmed cast members, though we assume that there will be some further names announced over time. We’ve also heard that the show’s not going to be trying to be as mysterious this season as they’ve been in the past, so there is a good chance that you’ll find out a few more teases here and there along the way.
