Once Upon a Time season 6: Is there hope for Hook – Emma still?
While Once Upon a Time on Sunday night may have offered up a setback to the couple’s future, rest assured that we hardly think that their entire future is in tatters. The big issue right now is Hook finding himself, and determining that the way in which he went about hiding the secret is wrong. The issue here is with execution rather than action. We hardly think that Hook is still a vicious killer — Emma knows that. She’s seen him do the right thing. You just have to remember that she is someone who was willing to go into the Underworld and risk everything in order to bring Hook back; he has to be willing to go just as far, even if it means confessing something difficult.
The biggest roadblock in their way now is a simple matter of Captain Nemo’s vessel. Hook was aboard it at the time he made the realization that he was ready to give Emma his all and be honest and upfront about his past; unfortunately, Gideon decided to manipulate it, and all of a sudden Hook is heading 20,000 leagues under the sea (or at least close to it).
Given how great of a character Hook is, you don’t want to keep him separated from the remainder of the season. He’s going to have some help to get him back to Storybrooke — think along the lines of Ariel, Aladdin, and Jasmine! (There is a new promo about this that you can check out here.) There’s still time to get him home. As a matter of fact, we’d be willing to wager that there is still time for a Captain Swan wedding by the end of the season. Given how long that they’ve been romantically intertwined at this point, they would be fine with a rather-short engagement. Plus, wouldn’t a wedding be a great thing to go along with the big musical episode that we’re going to be getting a little later this season?
