Line of Duty season 4 episode 2: Operation Trapdoor ramps up
If this is your first time watching Line of Duty and are doing so mostly for Newton’s performance, you should be well aware that things within this series tend to move rather quickly. They have to, since you are talking about a show with only a limited amount of time to tell the story. The good news is that because of the procedural setup, it’s a little bit easier to dive into the show without advance knowledge than it would be with some other shows that are out there.
Line of Duty season 4 episode 2 synopsis – “A dismembered body is discovered, and worries grow when DCI Roz Huntley fails to report for duty. AC-12 crank up their investigation into Operation Trapdoor, concerned that Michael Farmer will go to jail for crimes he didn’t commit. With suspicions that Roz may have withheld crucial evidence, a new DCI is drafted in to run Operation Trapdoor.
“Kate makes progress in her undercover role, but AC-12’s investigation falters when they realise that their main informant, forensic investigator Tim Ifield, has also gone missing.”
Basically, the best way to describe this story is one is going to give you several steps forward, and then also several steps back. The AC-12 will think that they’re closing in on exposing corruption and bringing justice even to the world of criminal justice. Yet, at the same time there are going to be some snags and problems that rise to the surface and complicate matters immensely. Within this world, it does very much seem to be a world where nothing is as it seems. Also, investigating people within the police force is a little more challenging when these are people who, in theory, are a little smarter when it comes to covering things up.
