Talking Dead lineup: Lauren Cohan, Alanna Masterson join Chris Hardwick

Lauren Cohan

We’re getting closer to The Walking Dead finale, and with that in mind, it does only make sense that you also start to get some more notable guests making an appearance on Talking Dead. Judging from the lineup tonight, you’re certainly seeing that.

Let’s begin here with Lauren Cohan. For most of season 7, Maggie has been mourning Glenn in her own way, but also finding more and more of her voice and understanding what it means to be a leader at the Hilltop Colony. We figure that some of the scenes featuring her and Gregory are going to be a main subject of conversation, especially as Gregory plots and attempts to figure out if there is anything that he can do in order to ensure that more of the power remains over on his side.

Meanwhile, you’ve got someone in Alanna Masterson who is incredibly important to this season because of what she’s seen and been a part of with Oceanside. She joined this community temporarily before getting out, and her knowledge of it has served as a powerful undercurrent during most of the movement against Negan. Is she going to finally open up more about her history there, and the presence of the guns that could potentially change some of the tide and the course of the entire season? It certainly qualifies as food for thought if nothing else.

One thing that you should remember going into tonight, even if you really don’t want to remember it because it frustrates you, is that we’re looking squarely in the face yet again of another 11:00 p.m. Eastern airing (approximately). There is another episode of Into the Badlands airing after The Walking Dead, and you really should watch that just because it’s a good show. Also, don’t blame it for the scheduling decisions made by AMC.

Want to get some further news on The Walking Dead leading into tonight’s new episode? Then be sure to head over here, since that’s where you can get our take on one of the newest sneak peeks featuring the likes of Maggie and Gregory. We’ll be back with further coverage tonight, including a first look at the finale and potentially the epic showdown between the group and Negan that so many people are hoping to see. Fingers crossed it doesn’t disappoint. (Photo: AMC.)
