The Voice UK: Were Max Vickers, Truly Ford, Craig Ward eliminated?
The first thing that we were happy to see with the show this season was that the show isn’t forcing there to be an artist from each coach. There are some seasons of various formats that do require it, and we personally don’t appreciate it all that much. It makes matters far more frustrating, given that there are situations that pop up here and there where a deserving contestant gets eliminated simply because every coach has to have an act in the finale.
The four artists who made it through to the next round tonight were Mo Adeniran, Into the Ark, Jamie Miller, and Michelle John. With this group, Jennifer Hudson officially has two acts in the final round in Mo and Jamie.
Unfortunately, that also means that Max Vickers, Truly Ford, Craig Ward, and Jason Jones were all eliminated, which leaves Gavin Rossdale without a representative in the final. That’s always a bummer, since you want to have a vested interest. On the flip side, maybe this is an opportunity for there to be a member of the panel who is truly impartial and just says what they mean with no inherent bias in mind.
Of the eliminated contestants, we’re probably the most disappointed to see Max leave the show at this time — but, we’ve also come to expect The Voice UK to not be a show to give you the expected outcomes. Just take a look at much of the results from the past several seasons of the show. We felt like Mo had a huge chance of winning from the moment that we saw his first audition, so that’s the winner pick we want to stick with … but all of that is subjective at this point. It’s one of the beautiful things that comes with watching a show like this.
