Blindspot season 2 finale spoilers: Recent NCIS guest set to appear
Per a report from Entertainment Weekly, Masterson (who recently appeared on NCIS in the role of a Congresswoman with close ties to Leon Vance) is going to be appearing in this upcoming episode in a still-mysterious role. All we can say for the time being is that she will be playing a high-ranking official within the FBI. With this show, it’s fair to assume that there are some ties that are present here between her and everything that’s going on with Jane Doe — in other words, the very foundation on which this show is based.
At the moment, we’ve considered the structure of this show to be one where we bounce between different people with FBI connections, determine their connections to Jane and/or Weller, and then move on to some of the next one. So long as the characters remain great and interesting, this works without a problem! You just have to consider the momentum here. If one story doesn’t work, you have to just move on to the next one.
Within the further context of this casting, one of the questions that we do wonder is whether or not we could end up seeing Masterson sticking around and becoming an integral part of a potential third season. Typically when you do introduce a character like this in the finale for your show, there’s a pretty good chance that they could end up sticking around and being a key cog in what’s coming up next season. At the moment, you’re mostly just dealing with questions as to whether or not said renewal will happen. We’d like for it to, but Blindspot remains on the bubble and its viewers will need to give NBC every reason in the world to renew it.
