Blindspot season 2 spoilers: More on Nas’ source, Borden’s return

After a hiatus Blindspot season 2 is going to be returning to NBC with new episodes on Wednesday night, and in leading up to the first installment back, one of the biggest questions revolves around the character of Nas. Will she survive, and what happened to her source supposedly within Sandstorm? Has that become a swirling vortex of sand in its own right?

These are of course answers that are hard to hand out before the episode airs, but we do have further insistences now that said answers are coming. In speaking on this subject to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Martin Gero officially confirms that we’re going to see an entire installment coming up Wednesday that is about the aftermath of what happened to her, and if there is a way for Jane and Weller to get the upper hand once more:

“Obviously her source has either been compromised, or her source has turned … That’s what the whole episode is about: Can we trust Nas’ source? And once the source is revealed, the waters get even muddier. This episode is very much about Nas’ fabled inside-Sandstorm source, and it brings up a lot of familiar faces back to the show.”

This storyline also means that you can expect Borden’s return to the show after being in that violent standoff with Patterson (pictured above) at the end of the first part of the season. This is the sort of thing that could hold dire consequences for the her and the rest of the team, as she’s going to have to face off against her attacker / tormentor coming up in a way that she certainly would have never hoped. This is someone who she thought she was building a future with, and to have all of that crash down around her is rather devastating, to put it frankly.

Still, this could be an episode of answers, and it is one that should really get the ball rolling as we get closer and closer to the end of season 2. Remember that if you love Blindspot, you need to watch it live! Now is the time more than ever before when these sorts of things matter as the show clings to the renewal bubble.
