Designated Survivor episode 13 promo: ‘Backfire’ and a downward spiral

As we get into Designated Survivor episode 13, one thing is going to be very clear: We will continue to see more and more of President Kirkman struggling with outside forces trying to collide and ruin things for him … as if the attempts on his life were not enough. MacLeish dying is only going to make things all the more complicated. The country has to deal with the death of their Vice-President now, but when you think about it, shouldn’t they really be prepared for this sort of thing at this point? It’s tragic, but the world of this show features a hardened nation.

Next week’s new episode is entitled “Backfire,” which suggests that you’re going to get a chance to see someone attempt to do something big … only to have it then blow up and go the opposite direction.

Synopsis – “An investigative journalist shocks the White House when he reveals classified information during a press briefing and leaves Seth struggling to contain the damage from the leaked story. Meanwhile, Hannah unearths a key connection between MacLeish and the conspiracy.”

Could it be the actions of this journalist that end up blowing up and have an adverse effect? It’s possible, mostly because of the fact that once a story is out there for everyone to see, they’re no longer in control of it anymore. It’s the public’s now, and sometimes the public can do some questionable, surprising things.

Designated Survivor episode 13 promo – You do get a good sense of the foreboding and the terror in this preview that Kirkman is facing now in the aftermath of the veep’s death. He has to figure out the source of the leaks, and the way to effectively make the public feel better about what’s happening. That’s not easy for anyone to do.

We’re certainly curious to see what the ratings are for the show tomorrow; as a matter of fact, the same goes for all shows. We’re starving after not having the ratings for any shows over the course of the past few days.
