Blue Bloods season 7: Should Jamie / Eddie be together by finale?

While we do understand that the CBS police drama is a procedural and it likes to move some stories along at a crawl, we are starting to get a sense that the relationship between these two characters could be heating up by season’s end. After all, we had a Jamie / Eddie kiss earlier this season, they’ve discussed their feelings at length, and they’ve also tried the thing where they’ve seen other people and went on double dates with said other people.

The show is, effectively, doing almost everything that they can to feature the two characters with romantic undertones, other than of course the thing that everyone wants: Seeing the two of them actually get together. If we were to guess, there’s likely to be some movement on this front by the season 7 finale. You want to have a way to entice fans of Jamie / Eddie to watch the final episode of the season, and what better way to do that than teasing another moment like they one that you see above?

Giving the two a chance to get together would easily bring some benefits to Blue Bloods, starting with the fact that it opens up all sorts of story possibilities if they are a public couple. What does it do for their partnership? Does it impact how they fare out in the field? Could we get a wedding by the end of the series? This is a show that loves to focus on a wide array of relationships, and two cops dating each other is not one that’s really been explored at length.

Ideally, we’d love to see the two get together in some sort of way around episode 20 or 21 of the season; then, you close out the finale by having a Jamie / Eddie scene where she is at the Reagan family dinner table. Maybe that’s a little soon for her — these scenes are sacred and it’s a big step for the relationship to be eating with the entire family — but it’s certainly something that needs to happen if the two are endgame. Getting them together is just the right move for the two as characters, and also is the perfect teaser in the event that we get a Blue Bloods season 8 for the fall.

I love these two. Eddie and Jamie have great chemistry, and I like watching their relationship slowly simmer. The show is much more interesting with Jamko :) and I want these two soulmates to get together eventually!

I’m one of the MANY viewers who would really like to see Jamie and Eddie together, the sooner the better.

However, I would also like to see plenty of screen time with them together.

Given that this show focuses on the work life of the Reagan family, thus giving very limited time to the characters of Grandpa, Linda and the boys, it would mean a diminished role for Eddie. Since Jamie and Eddie would follow the rules, they would not remain partners at work if they chose to pursue a romantic relationship.

Hopefully, the writers can devise a creative way for Jamie and Eddie to have both a work situation with frequent contact and a romantic relationship.

YES!!!! Want to see the lovebirds together! PLEASE make us Jamko lovers happy and give them their chance! The kiss, the dance, the shirt giving were such teasers, We know theses two need to be a permanent couple. Lets have BB season 8 with them together and keep all us loyal fans coming back to see MORE OF the lovebirds TOGETHER! We Jamko fans need to be able to have them together A LOT romantically at end of season 7 to be more excited about, hopefully, season 8 coming in Fall! BB is the BEST! THANKS!

I’d like to see Jamko together by the end of this season, but I’m not sure the writers would actually put them together yet. I hope they do, but I’ve always wondered if they’re saving Jamko becoming a couple until the final episodes during the final season of the show. Although, recently I have been speculating that maybe Jamko will become a couple by the end of this season. The picture Will Estes posted of his “new partner” (who is only in one episode; the next new one) has me wondering if Jamie is going to start training and riding with new rookie cops instead of being Eddie’s partner all the time. Maybe Eddie is finally going to get promoted to a detective sometime soon. Also, when Frank and Danny asked Jamie why he doesn’t want to be promoted, I got this feeling that there were more reasons than what Jamie voiced to them. I think a big reason why Jamie wants to stay a beat cop is because of his partnership with Eddie. If Jamie confronts Eddie about this in a future episode and depending on how he presents it, it might lead to them finally getting together. So, I’m hoping the writers surprise me by allowing Jamko to become a couple sooner than later.
