Quick Hits: American Gods trailer talk; Master of None premiere date; Jessica Pare casting
In this edition of TV Quick Hits, we’re going to give you a quick sense of some of the different stories that are breaking across the internet, and it begins with a take on the new American Gods trailer that was put out on the internet.
If you head over to TVLine, you can see the first-look preview at the show starring Ricky Whittle and Ian McShane, and it’s all sorts of awesome as you see Whittle’s Shadow Moon find himself in a position where he is protecting a deity in McShane. It’s not the easiest series in the world to describe, but the casting here is incredible and includes the likes of Kristin Chenoweth, Gillian Anderson, Cloris Leachman, and Orlando Jones.
The show premieres on Starz next month, and you can get some further news about it just by heading over to the link here.
As for some other news from the day…
The critically-acclaimed comedy starring Aziz Ansari is going to be officially premiering on May 12 with new episodes. This is going to mark a great opportunity to see the comedian further express some creative freedom, while finding some unique ways of making us laugh all the while. The teaser HERE doesn’t really give anything away, other than giving you a small reminder as to what the series’ tone is going to be.
Jessica Pare joins new CBS pilot
It’s been a while since we’ve seen the former Mad Men star leading the way on a series, but Deadline reports that Pare is joining a new CBS pilot all about Navy SEALs and how they work, train, and prepare for some of their next missions. She would play a CIA analyst, and the current cast for the project already includes the likes of Max Thieriot, A.J. Buckley, and many others. It’s still far too early in order to properly determine precisely what we’re going to see happen with the show, but it’s interesting that CBS would dive into this given that there is another similar show out there already in SIX.
As always, we welcome your thoughts on this story in the comments! If you stay tuned, we’ll have more when it comes to Quick Hits and anything / everything else that we have to offer at the site.
