The Bachelorette: Rachel Lindsay meets her men on After the Final Rose

Rachel Lindsay -

Going into tonight’s The Bachelor: After the Final Rose special, there were constant teases about how there was going to be some sort of “historic” event taking place. Nobody was altogether keen on sharing further details about it, but it absolutely appeared as though the producers were getting set to drop a rather big bomb on the crowd.

So was the final twist anywhere near as historic as advertised? Not exactly, but at least the show tried to do something different and we’ll give them credit for that. Basically, Rachel Lindsay got a chance to meet some of her men in advance. Chris Harrison “brought the mansion to her” during the show, and Rachel seemed to be very much freaking about it … and understandably so. She didn’t meet all of them, but there were at least a few there.

There isn’t going to be all that much that we get a chance to learn about them on the show tonight, mostly because this segment didn’t even start until around the 10:50 p.m. Eastern mark. The first man who rolled out was named DeMario, and following that we got another guy in Blake who seemed extremely nervous to meet her. Then, we had another guy who gave some really terrible “once you go black” joke, and then we had someone else named Eric who had swagger for days. He was the guy who she seemed to have the best overall connection with on the night, so we consider that for the time being to be good jumping-off point for whatever else could be coming later this season.

Regrettably, there were only four guys that she got to meet tonight, but none of them had a chance to really introduce themselves so much that she’ll be able to go and Google them after the fact. We don’t think it is that much of an advantage, but clearly the producers did want to throw out there four guys for her tonight who they consider to be serious contenders. They’ll save some of the goofier gimmicks for the season itself, which is going to be premiering on ABC this coming May.

Unfortunately, you’re probably going to have to wait for a good month and a half now to meet the remainder of Rachel’s cast.
