Scorpion season 3 episode 19 spoilers: Toby, Happy, and tomatoes

Scorpion season 3 episode 19 will air on CBS Monday night, and judging from the latest sneak peek below as released by CBS, there is one thing that we know for sure to expect: Tomatoes. Specifically, troubles with tomatoes.

This video focuses on Sylvester doing everything that he can in order to solve one of life’s great mysteries: How to ensure maximum coverage of a slice of bread with a tomato. The slices of the tomato are round, whereas the slices of the sandwich bread are square. Clearly, this is a great conundrum indeed! (Yes, in reality there are probably a thousand or so better uses for the team’s time.) There is not much of a clear solution to the problem, other than that it may be best for Sly to figure out how to make a round loaf of bread. That seems a whole lot easier than trying to build a gigantic tomato that is large enough so that a slice of it covers the bread.

We do sympathize with the plight of Sylvester here, if for no other reason than that we like to consider ourselves a regular sandwich aficionado ourselves.

As for what else is going on in the preview, both Toby and Happy seem to be looking at whatever nonsense is going on with Sylvester and his sandwich as a nice distraction from what they’ve been going through when it comes to their counseling. Penn Jillette is going to return in the episode as the therapist we’ve seen many times over, and it does feel absolutely as though there will be tension as the two make it ever closer to walking down the aisle.

Also, kudos to the show for throwing in a line about the hot-dog invention in here, given that this may be the best / worst invention in Team Scorpion history. Our feeling is the solution to this problem is just that you build a much bigger hot dog and a much bigger bun, given that this gives you the opportunity to cut off a little of the dog to allow for some more condiment consistency. Someone should hire some of these guys for a food lab if the job of saving the world doesn’t quite pan out.
