Fargo season 3 teasers highlight mystery, Ewan McGregor

Fargo season 3

If you appreciate a great mystery, rest assured that you’ll get to see some of that and then some when Fargo season 3 premieres on FX come Wednesday, April 19. This is a show that does bring a wide array of different things to the table, but it still has to find some further ways to mix it up and give everyone something new. That’s not always an easy thing to do, but the good news here is rather simple: This is a show capable of pulling it off.

HERE, you can see two of the first previews for the new season, and they do a good job when it comes to establishing the overall look and feel of what’s coming up ahead. They give you a sense of some of the drama, some of the danger, the wintry weather, and of course Ewan McGregor. He is playing two different roles this time around, and this could be one of his greatest performances that we’ve seen — and we mean this in terms of talking about both his film and also his television work.

As for the remainder of the cast, it’s easy to be excited about getting the likes of Carrie Coon, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Scoot McNairy from Halt and Catch Fire and some other notable names on the show when you’re finding a way to throw them into an organic environment, one that is about playing real people and not some overhyped cheeseballs or caricatures that you do tend to see elsewhere.

For more information on the story for the season, check out the full plot synopsis below:

“Set in 2010, the third installment of Fargo centers on Emmit and his slightly younger brother Ray Stussy (Ewan McGregor). Emmit, the Parking Lot King of Minnesota, sees himself as an American success story, whereas Ray is more of a cautionary tale. Forever living in his more successful brother’s shadow, Ray is a balding and pot-bellied parole officer with a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt – and he blames his brother. Their sibling rivalry follows a twisted path that begins with petty theft but soon leads to murder, mobsters and cut-throat competitive bridge. Carrie Coon stars as “Gloria Burgle,” the steady chief of the local police department. A newly divorced mother, Gloria is trying to understand the new world around her, where people connect more intimately with their phones than with the people around them. Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as Ray’s girlfriend, Nikki Swango, a crafty and alluring recent parolee with a passion for competitive bridge. David Thewlis stars as V.M. Vargas, a mysterious loner and true capitalist whose bosses plan to partner with Emmit, whether The Parking Lot King likes it or not.”
