The Walking Dead season 7 episode 13: A Melissa McBride showcase (video)
A big part of the reason why this sneak peek is so effective a sheer matter of the music, which softens some of what Carol is doing as she basically tears through a horde of zombies with the utmost of precision. It’s almost exactly the sort of thing that you would expect for her to do, and the part of it with her destroying walkers with a one way sign has to be one of the best examples of who she is possible. Think about how quickly she kills these zombies, before you even get a chance to see the people from the Hilltop Colony come out to help. (Maybe this is also a fine example of how the Hilltop probably isn’t the best group of people to rely on if your primary goal is to ensure the survival of your crew versus Negan. Just saying.)
The main goal for Carol here seems to be to be able to hunt down Morgan, who seems to be there judging from some of the photos that we’ve seen. Maybe these two characters in conjunction can start to get on the same page, which will in turn get them on the same page as the rest of the group. The biggest issue for Carol is that there is this enormous hanging chad out there that she still has to deal with, and it’s the fact that Daryl hasn’t told her the truth about what happened to Glenn, Abraham, or any of the others who are no longer around. He seems to think that he did the right thing for her at the time — maybe you can argue that this is true, but even if it is, you still have to imagine that there will be some consequences to the action down the road. This is Carol we’re talking about here! We don’t think that secrets are necessarily her jam.
