Are Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas leaving Once Upon a Time season 6?

Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas -

The question’s been asked on a few occasions now, and we do understand the concern: Are Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas leaving Once Upon a Time? Could it really happen this season?

According to Deadline, it very well good. The site reports that the two actors, who are married in real life and heave a young family, may have told ABC going into season 6 that their plan was to depart at the end of their contracts. Given where they are in their lives, this may make sense given that they don’t want to travel constantly with their family from Los Angeles to Vancouver to film the show. Meanwhile, Goodwin showed with Zootopia that there are many more things within the Disney world that they could still do even if they are not a part of this show anymore.

In hearing this news, it may be easier to understand some of the network’s other moves such as them casting new characters potentially for a season 7. It makes a little more sense as to why they would be going in that direction. This also further reinforces that ABC is not trying to pull a Castle and cut salary for the upcoming season, so the two actors are not being forced out.

Based on the reporting we gave you yesterday, four longtime regulars in Jennifer Morrison (Emma), Lana Parrilla (Regina), Colin O’Donoughue (Hook), and Robert Carlyle (Rumpelstiltskin) are all in conversations to return for season 7. There is no word at present on the status of either Jared Gilmore (Henry), who’s been with the show from the start, or Emilie de Ravin (Belle), who first appeared midway through season 1 before becoming a regular moving into the second season of the show.

There is also still no talk on whether or not season 7 could be the show’s last if renewed. Given the ratings at present, in some ways it would be welcome for the show to get this renewal in the first place. It’s possible in theory that it could also get a season 8, but from our vantage point it’s hard to imagine it with the declining ratings being what they are.

Either way, we suggest that you simply just enjoy the show while you can for the remainder of this season or otherwise. We know that at the very least, there are still a good eleven or so episodes left this season.
