Major Crimes season 5 spoilers: Ricky Raydor returns
Major Crimes spends the majority of its time in the parent – child department with Sharon and Rusty. However, a little bit later this season, you will actually have a chance to see Sharon Raydor’s son Ricky in action once more.
We can tell you now that on the upcoming March 22 episode entitled “Bad Blood” (hey, why not throw a Taylor Swift reference out there?), you are going to have a chance to get a story that is in part about Ricky’s return. He will be coming back in the context of a “surprise visit,” which makes us think that there is some sort of further motivation here. How many people randomly show up unless it’s either to create some sort of viral YouTube video, or because they want something that they don’t want to ask over the phone? It almost reminds us of earlier this season, when Gus didn’t want to talk to Rusty about something important to his life over the phone.
As for the case element of the episode, let’s just say that Sharon Raydor’s son is not going to possess the ability to stop time and keep anyone from investigating a crime. The victim will be a retired LAPD fraud detective, someone who may have been killed in connection to an arrest made decades before. Is this a former inmate getting revenge upon their release? That’s one theory, but it is far from the only one that we have.
In the end, we’ll see where this story goes, but on paper you’ve got everything that could make for an excellent episode of the show — there’s a case-of-the-week story that sounds compelling on paper, and then you’ve got the return of a character that you haven’t seen on the show in a while. These two things collectively make good ingredients; now, we just have to begin the waiting game for the episode to air.

Bringing back affiliated characters is one of the special qualities of the show. I like that. It would have been perfect if it was Emily, though. She is more sensible and likeable than her sometimes selfrighteous and patronizing baby brother.
