Real Housewives of New Jersey: Antonia Gorga, mother of Teresa, Joe, dead at 66

There is some sad news breaking today from within the Real Housewives of New Jersey family. Antonia Gorga, the mother of Teresa Giudice (pictured above) and Joe Gorga, is dead at the age of 66. No immediate cause of death was clear, and at this given time, prying on the subject doesn’t feel right.

This news was first confirmed today by sources over at People Magazine, though the two parties have not publicly addressed the subject just yet. Antonia made appearances on the Bravo reality series over the years, and did her best to be supportive of her children no matter what they are going through. Those who watch the series closely know that these two have absolutely went through their fair share of highs and lows. Specifically, we imagine that there were many difficult times in which she witnessed her children in the midst of an epic feud, but in recent years they’d worked to get on the same page and get more of the family back together again.

Both Teresa and her brother made a number of social-media posts over the years about their mother, and there was absolutely a sense of closeness there even when the cameras weren’t rolling. We now certainly hope that the two parties get more of an opportunity to spend some time together as a family and away from the cameras. This is a time for grieving and healing for them, and that’s probably one of the ways that they can best get through this. We know that it must be a hard situation since as reality TV stars, there is probably an expectation put upon them to be on all of the time and presenting their entire world for the show to see.
