How to ensure Blue Bloods season 8 renewal happens on CBS

Blue Bloods season 7

Given that there is no new episode airing on CBS, why not go ahead and talk a potential Blue Bloods season 8 renewal? It’s something that we always wait for around this time of the year, though this year it may be trickier than many others.

Let’s start with what viewers can do to ensure that the show comes back for another season: Keep watching. It may sound silly, but it really is as simple as that. So far, viewers are doing their job extremely well. This is, in terms of ratings, one of TV’s most-consistent shows. It has a great life in syndication, it’s popular in repeats, and there is a devoted following who watches even in spite of this airing in one of TV’s worst timeslots.

Basically, what we’re trying to say is that it’s hard to imagine any other show CBS has performing as well as this one does. It’s going to be very much difficult for them at any point that the show does wrap things up.

The biggest challenge that we see in terms of a season 8 renewal is basically getting all of the cast on board once more, and making sure all of the business matters behind the scenes are taken care of. Anytime that a show enters this point in its run, things have a tendency to get a lot more expensive to make. Add to this the fact that the show films in New York City, which is not always that cheap, and there are a lot of different things to concern yourself with. The good news is that CBS produces the series, so there’s less in terms of outside studio drama that they will have to deal with.

In the end, the one bit of advice we have for viewers out there is that if you watch the show, we hope you continue to discuss the show on social media, and make sure that CBS knows about. Write them on Twitter, post on their Facebook page, or use the specific #BlueBloods hashtag. Make sure that they know that this is a show that needs to come back. It’s hard to imagine it getting canceled at this point, but every little bit you can do to ensure the renewal helps.
