Longmire season 6: Katee Sackhoff returning as Vic (have no fear)
Ultimately, the internet has a tendency to make rumors spiral out of control. Don’t worry: Vic will be back. Sackhoff confirmed the news herself in a new post on Twitter recently, assuring everyone that the show starts filming on March 22, and she will be there for every second of it needed in order to film her scenes. Filming will likely last for a handful of months, and then wrap up in the summer before the show returns to Netflix in the fall (most likely).
We understand the reason for the paranoia and questions that are out there. Given that this is the final season of the show, you do want to get as much closure as possible with all of your favorite characters. This certainly includes Vic, as you wonder how her story will wrap up and what happens following her pregnancy reveal last season. The story ended in a place where the writers have a lot of flexibility. They could easily pick up almost immediately after the events of season 5, but they could also easily jump forward a significant stretch of time to see where some of the characters are in their lives.
With a show like this, it really is better off that you don’t know a whole lot in advance in terms of what’s coming. That ruins the surprise, and the feeling of immersion that you get while watching the show.
Before you go, we suggest that you also check out a feature piece we wrote yesterday regarding why now, more than ever, is the best time to watch new episodes of Longmire. It provides a sort of relief and escapism you cannot get elsewhere.
