Heather Morris dance experience: Glee star defends Dancing with the Stars 24 casting

Heather Morris' dance experience -

Is Heather Morris’ dance experience an issue going into Dancing with the Stars season 24? Following her casting, she had something to say about the competition being unfairly slanted so that someone like her could walk away with the Mirrorball Trophy in the end.

Speaking in a new interview on the subject to AOL News, the former Glee star said the following in response to some of the backlash, making it clear that she didn’t see anything that she had coming into this as an unfair advantage in the slightest:

“I don’t think so at all! “I think the competition is completely fair. There’s a gold medal gymnast! Come on!”

Morris is referring here towards the person who is probably her biggest competition in Simone Biles, who is trying to be the second-straight Final Five member to win the show. (Laurie Hernandez won it last season.)

We do think that there is an argument to be made that if too many people are unhappy with your amount of dance experience, they can just elect to not vote for you since America determines half of the vote. With that being said, being someone with Morris’ resume will probably ensure her and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy the chance to last for at least the first few weeks of the competition. She’ll get the scores alone to offset any voting issues she has. With that said, we’re not sure that she’ll have that many. While the ratings for Glee did taper out near the end of the run, Morris’ Brittany was one of the most-popular characters and she does have a good legion of fans who follow her to this day.

It’s hard to argue against the sole fact that Morris has dance experience — just look at the video below, which chronicles her time on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance prior to the time that she spent on Glee. She’s also performed in the past with Beyonce.
