‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13, episode 15: Return date; Meredith – Riggs romance ahead
For much of the year until now, Caterina Scorsone was on maternity leave. Many of the scenes that she appeared in until now were ones that were actually filmed a stretch of time after the fact. This is why some of her scenes were separate from many of the other characters. It’s possible that the same could be said here, but if that is the case, you will see here in more than just a brief scene or two.
Synopsis – “Richard, Jackson, April and Catherine tackle a grueling trauma case intensified by hospital politics. Amelia finally faces her feelings about Owen, and Meredith gets caught between Nathan and Alex over a patient.”
The Owen / Amelia story is the one that is generating the most excitement for us at the moment. That is probably for two separate reasons.
1. We’ve seen so little of the relationship as of late. Fingers crossed that this is the beginning of an epic arc featuring the two characters.
2. Scorsone won the CarterMatt Award for underrated actress late last year. It’s easy to celebrate reader favorites!
In diving into the other stories central to this episode, it’s easy to see what sort of problems Richard Webber and company could experience here. Just remember for a moment or two here that Eliza Minnick’s presence to date is a lightning rod of controversy. Her teachings divided the hospital, and while April is trying to handle the Chief of Surgery position, this is a difficult job for anyone to take on, let alone someone who received the promotion on the fly.
The bad news here is rather simple: “Civil War” is not airing next week. Instead, this episode is set for Thursday, March 9. That may be a while to wait; hopefully, the show proves to be well worth it.
