‘Blindspot’ season 2, episode 16 preview: Return date for Jaimie Alexander series
Tonight’s new episode of “Blindspot” is what we like to call the “February finale” — this is the middle of sweeps, and as a result of that there are many shows that have been in the midst of airing new episodes.
Now, we’re at a point where a number of them are going to start taking a few breathers, and that includes the Jaimie Alexander series. There will be no new episode next week, and the same goes for the week after and the week after that. As a matter of fact, you will be specifically waiting until one month from now on Wednesday, March 22 in order to see the next new episode of the show.
That is a very long wait, but it does appear as though there is a little bit of logic to the move. For one, this enables the show to run straight through from this point to the finale, which is probably not a process that they wanted to start up too early on. In addition to that, this also will give the show a chance to be far ahead in production to the point where they are not completely under the gun.
As for what we know about the show this far into the future, one of the biggest things that we can say at present is that there will be some more answers, links between Jane and Weller’s history, and also some notable guest spots to boot. (How else do you describe Ronda Rousey appearing on an upcoming episode?) There’s a lot to look forward to both in terms of action and in answers, so let’s just hope in the process that this is the final run of episodes for the show itself. Remember that we have not seen the show renewed just yet for a second season, and based on recent ratings, NBC could easily be on the fence.
