NBC’s ‘The Voice’: Adam Levine has no plans to ever take season off
While “The Voice” has throughout its run on TV rotated in and out two different chairs on the coaching panel, there are two others that have remained firmly in place: Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. They’ve been a part of every season, and that includes season 12 premiering in one week’s time.
Given that the panel has not been formally announced as of yet for the upcoming 13th season, we’re not all that shocked by the questions revolving around whether or not Adam and Blake will return — there’s just no precisely answer just yet. What we do know is that based on Adam’s latest comments on the subject per Yahoo! Music, his stance has not changed in the slightest as to whether or not he’d becoming back:
“… I will tell you this much: I will never take a season off. If I take a season off, it will be for every season thereafter, in perpetuity, for the rest of my life … Inevitably, when that day [when I quit] comes — unless I’m on the show until it’s done, who knows? — I would entrust my position with very few people. Maybe, like, I’d let Bruno Mars in the door. I think he’s great. And we’ll see how many kids Justin Timberlake has, if he can handle another job. Maybe Justin can do it. And yeah, that’s pretty much it.”
Unless Adam or Blake really just want more time to do other things, there’s very little reason for them to want to leave the show. It generates good ratings, it pays them very well, and it gives them a platform for their music. Both Maroon 5 and Blake have surged in success since the start of the show, and there aren’t any signs of it getting canceled … though there are rumors of it getting down to one season a year to make way for “American Idol.”
Can you imagine “The Voice” without either Adam or Blake? Would that work in your mind? Share in the comments, and head over here in the event you want to get some further news and previews on the new season! (Photo: NBC.)
