Dwayne Johnson gives kind battling leukemia some love on ‘Ballers’ season 3 set (video)
Just in case you needed even MORE evidence that Dwanye Johnson is a pretty awesome dude, we’ve got that for you below.
In a new post on Instagram coming from the set of the third season of his HBO show “Ballers,” the actor / former wrestler / master of many things chose to give a shout-out to a young kid in Fisher nicknamed “The Pebble,” who has been battling leukemia for some time and is doing his part to stay strong. Johnson is one of his heroes, which makes some sense given that he’s just about everything a young kid would want in one — an action hero, a guy who makes you laugh, and also a guy who has a softer, tender side. “Moana” was one of the perfect gigs for him last year — even though it was just his voice, you still got to see a fun, different dimension of his personality in playing Maui. Plus, you actually got to hear him sing!
This is hardly the first time that Johnson’s done something like this for a young kid — we actually see him make time to do this fairly often, and he also does it for everyone from military veterans to ordinary fans. There are certainly many people in TV and film who do this, but we’re not sure any do it with the regularity that he does.
We could go on and on about the awesomeness of Johnson, but we figure at a certain point it would just sound like rambling — therefore, let’s go ahead and just throw it out there that he should REALLY host “Saturday Night Live” again by the end of the season. We feel like The Rock Obama could have some fun in today’s political landscape.
