‘Ransom’ episode 8 preview: A tale of two daughters; the latest ratings
Tonight, “Ransom” on CBS will be bringing you a new episode that offers you a perspective that’s a little different than most of the others that you’ve seen so far over the course of the series’ run. Often, most of the stories on the show revolve around the Eric character helping other people out of difficult hostage crises; for this episode “Regeneration,” meanwhile, he finds himself in a crisis in which he finds himself in a little bit in need of a rescue. Still, he’ll be able to take advantage of some of his skills from inside a hostage crisis in hopes of ensuring that everyone is safe.
Next week, the show’s going to be taking a little bit more of a political route for “Say What You Did,” an installment that feels somewhat self-explanatory based on that itself. Obviously, Eric’s going to be dealing with someone in a high-powered Senator in order to figure out what could’ve led to his daughter being taken from him. As you will find out over the course of the hour, daughters are actually going to play a pretty integral role in the direction of this story, both in terms of the main case and everything going on in terms of Eric’s own life.
Synopsis – “When a senator’s daughter is kidnapped, Eric and the team must delve into the senator’s darkest secrets to try to bring his daughter home safely. Also, Eric faces challenges with his own daughter, Evie, after his attempt to keep her safe backfires.”
The latest ratings report – This is something that we’ve tracked all season, mostly as a form of curiosity to see whether or not the show could manage to acquire another season on the air. Last week’s episode held fairly steady with a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic, and then also drew around 3.2 million viewers to go along with it. This is the lowest total-viewer count that the show has seen through seven episodes, though to be fair, it’s not by some extreme amount. If CBS is happy with this performance for a Saturday show, they’ll renew it. This is a little bit of a different situation than most of their other shows, just because Saturdays are such a graveyard that the expectations are more subjective than they would be otherwise.
