‘Emerald City’ episode 9 preview: Will Lucas be forced to kill Dorothy?

Emerald city -

To think, there are only two more episodes left on “Emerald City” this season, and based on some of the early indications that we’re seeing, this is a show that is going to go out with a bang. Even if it is not renewed for a second season, we’re getting a good sense that the entire journey could be worth it … even if there are a few moments along the way where you could feel like the producers are ripping out your heart and stomping all over it.

The next new episode of the show is going to be one where you get a good sense that all factions are about to explode, but to make things more personal, we could end up seeing Dorothy and Lucas in a situation where whatever they once had could be falling apart. Thanks to matters that are beyond his control, we’re going to be seeing him in a desperate, dangerous place.

Synopsis – “As the Wizard (Vincent D’Onofrio) arrives in the Kingdom of Ev, an intense negotiation may lead to a standoff with Langwidere (guest star Stefanie Martini). Dorothy (Adria Arjona) and Lucas (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) find themselves on opposite sides. Meanwhile, Jack (Gerran Howell) makes a decision that may have deadly consequences. Elsewhere, Tip (Jordan Loughran) and West (Ana Ularu) solidify their bond and mount a battle of their own.”

If there is one more reason to worry when it comes to the show’s season 2 renewal odds, it is that the ratings have been steady over the past three episodes. The unfortunate news is that in this case, “steady” means basically hovering around a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That’s not the sort of figure that tends to inspire a good bit of confidence in the future of the series.
