‘Chicago Med’ season 2, episode 15 preview: Dr. Rhodes takes on another high-profile case

Let’s start this “Chicago Med” article with a little bit of the bad news: There is no new episode airing on NBC next week. The network is making you wait until March 2 before getting a chance to see “Lose Yourself,” and it’s going to be an interesting installment just when it comes to the nature of the patients themselves.

Also, we’re going to be seeing Dr. Rhodes thrown into the spotlight once again. Remember earlier this season, when he had to operate on a panda? Suffice it to say, that’s not the only high-profile patient he’s taking on this season. His latest one is someone whose accident became a viral sensation, and there will be increased pressure on him to keep him alive in order to ensure that this story doesn’t have a tragic ending.

Synopsis – “- It’s a miracle when a trauma patient survives the trip to the hospital, putting the pressure on Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) to keep the man alive. Dr. Choi (Brian Tee) and Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) have difficulty diagnosing the location of infection in a paralyzed patient. Dr. Reese (Rachel DiPillo) must find purpose for a grieving widower who relies on a superhero costume. Meanwhile, April (Yaya DaCosta) pushes Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) to use unproved medications to help a patient with no other options.”

Aside from Dr. Rhodes’ story, the standout of the synopsis seems to be Dr. Reese as she gets more and more involved with psychiatry and taking on different cases. We’ve seen her work rather tirelessly in order to ensure that she can get through to new people and understand their perspective. Hopefully, this installment is going to be an opportunity for her to elevate some of her training to another level. (Without getting overly corny here, can’t all of the doctors and nurses at “Chicago Med” be nurses in their own right? Insert “aww” sound effect here.)

Quick reminder: There is a three-part crossover event coming on March 1, and there will be a “Med” presence there … even if there is not a new episode coming on the date.
