‘Major Crimes’ season 5 spoilers: The story of a computer geek goes bad

Major Crimes -

If you love “Major Crimes,” here’s the great news in terms of what is coming up: We’re going to be getting a great opportunity moving forward to see a case that is certainly a little bit different than one that we’ve had a chance to see so far this season. It’s a case that is incredibly dangerous, and one that’s also incredibly current.

Specifically, we’re talking about the case at the heart of “Cleared History,” which is the new episode of the show that is airing on Wednesday, March 5. Here, you are going to see the team discover a “one-man-geek-squad” found dead inside of his living room, and in a particular gruesome fashion — his throat will have been cut!

As for who could be responsible for this, let’s just say that the character may not be nearly as innocent as his personality would lead you to believe. It turns out that he was a master blackmailer, someone who used people’s information in order to exploit than and get more money for himself. You’re also going to see his roommate become a suspect, though it’s not clear just what the motive there could be.

In addition to this rather-fascinating case, one of the other stories to watch as we move further into this season is Sharon Raydor’s journey towards potentially getting a promotion. She is jostling with other candidates, and it should lead you to wonder just how far she is willing to go in order to land it.

New episodes are going to begin (after a terribly long wait) starting on Wednesday night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. While we very much know that the Major Crimes Unit itself is going to be taking on some incredibly difficult cases this season, there may not be any that are more dangerous than how the show on a meta level fares against “Law & Order: SVU” and “Criminal Minds.” Luckily, we do know already that it’s been renewed for an additional season already.
